Hello! This is my third year in the district as a multilingual support teacher and my second year at Licton Springs. I split my time between Licton Springs and Loyal Heights. I completed my BA at University of Washington and my Master’s in Education at Antioch University Seattle, then later went back to school to earn my ELL endorsement. I have been teaching since 2007! In that time, I have been a substitute teacher, a special education instructional assistant, a 4th grade teacher, and now a multilingual learners teacher. I love this position as I can support both students and teachers and watch students grow in their language development. We are all language learners!
When I am not at school, I am busy doing activities with my husband and kids. Our daughter is in elementary school and our son is in preschool. Fun fact: I have lived in Ballard for over 19 years, and our kids are the fourth generation of the family to live in our current house!
I grew up in Atlanta and love getting back there whenever possible to visit my family. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do when I have time off. When I don't have time to travel to different places, I enjoy hiking with Albus Dumbledore, my Golden Doodle. Albus has been certified as a therapy dog, and I try to bring him to school once a week.
I'm one of the resource teachers at Cascadia. This is my 7th year with the district and my 4th year at Cascadia. I work hard to build relationships with both students and families, so please don't hesitate to contact me with your questions.
My name is Annika Sgambelluri and I have been teaching Multilingual Learners in Seattle Public Schools since 2011. I am a native Washingtonian and attended Western Washington University for my undergraduate degree and the University of Washington for my Masters in Teaching. Prior to teaching, I worked in non-profit administration at the UW. I love to travel with my family, including my two kids, and learn about all the amazing cultures in the world. I’ve been to over 25 different countries and four continents. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me planning my next trip, learning Spanish, running around Green Lake, or hiking in our amazing Pacific Northwest mountains.
