Global Reading Challenge
The Global Reading Challenge (GRC) 2024
The Global Reading challenge (GRC) is a citywide collaborative effort between The Seattle Public Library and Seattle Public Schools. GRC is a book trivia competition only available to 4th and 5th graders. Students are introduced to the program in November and sign up before Thanksgiving break. At that time, I form teams (mixed grades and genders). Students meet their team, choose the books they will read and practice with their team once a week until the in-school competition is held in early February. The winning team will advance to the semi-finals round and compete against other SPS schools during a field trip to the downtown branch of the public library.
The Cascadia In-School Challenge for 2024 will be held on February 1st at 8:30 am in the library. Parents and siblings are welcome to watch!
