National walk to school day celebrates and encourages walking to school. Studies show that walking to school helps boost student concentration and learning, as well as have a positive impact on in-school behavior. Walking to school can be part of a healthy exercise regime, as well as reduce pollution in school zones.
Students are invited to walk with a group from a muster point, or on their own. All walkers are invited to sign in upon arriving at school to receive a small reward. Walkers may sign in for walking to school, or walking approximately one mile before school on this morning.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help lead the walking school buses from the muster points. A final list of muster points will be published the week of October 5th. Please consider signing up to help at the SignUpGenius
